Having arrived on the quizzing scene as a prodigious school quizzer from Calicut,he has represented Silver Hills High School, East Hill HSS and NIT Calicut with distinction. His list of partners range from rookie school quizzers to the likes of Anil Raghavan and Josyula Krishnamurthy. In school quizzing, he was one of the most dominant figures of his era having won All-Kerala tournaments like SBT Intel Teens, Labour India Quiz and a second spot in the national finals of Terra-Quiz.His exploits after joining NIT Calicut, particularly in
2005-'06, made him one of the best known figures in Kerala Quizzing. Over the years 2005 -'07, he dominated the Kerala College Quizzing arena.
He completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad in the class of 2009.
He is presently employed by the Securities Trading Corporation of India and works out of Mumbai.

He has hosted a Gen Quiz for Collegiates at Cusat in 2006, besides co-hosting Mostly Harmless at Ragam 2007. In December 2007, he did a New Year's quiz at NITC. In April 2009 he did a quiz at Jyothi Enigneering College, Trichur.

abid's distinction as a quizzer is quite well known. but his talent as a quiz master is not widely acknowledged. abid, being the secretary ofthe ENQUIRE group, has been part of a number of enquire quizzes conducted for schools. the one i remember was The Conquest conducted by BVM, eroor as part of their cultural fest. Though the quiz lacked in participatioon, it was a huge success, especially the rounds. the face 2 face buzzer questions really pumped up ones adrenalin. and abid with his warmth made the quiz a real pleasure to participate.
One occasion when I thought his personal toughness and drive came to the forefront was,when,after losing Quinsabe-'06 to RGK-Rajsekhar, and Sarin, the guy came back with such an authoratitative perfomance the next day at quiz by AJ(where i was his partner)to cream the competition, with Sarin left nearly a 100 points behind(AJ actually asked us onstage whether we wanted to stop answering before the last round)In my opinion, it was a super perfomance after being just short of down and out 24 hours ago
and just for the record, i think i contributed just about 50 points of the 303 we scored.
