Vishnu Vijay has been among the more prolific quizzers in the college quizzing circuit over the past 4 years. He has represented St. Thomas College, Pala during his degree days and now is representing College of Engineering, Trivandrum while pursuing his MCA.

A familiar face to quizzers, he has given some stellar performances over the years, and his enthusiasm for attending quizzes is well known and appreciated

Major Chandrakant Nair

Major (Dr.) Chandrakant Nair, or as he is popularly known - Captain- has come to prominence as a quizzer and quizmaster over the last two years in a circuit where he last quizzed over a decade ago. He is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune which he represented with distinction. He was posted in Nagaland after being commissioned by the Indian Army in 2006.

His first major foray into Kerala quizzing was the three-quiz-blockbuster he did as part of Reverberates 2008. Since then, Captain has gone on to become one of the most popular quizmasters in the state, conducting some of the most memorable quizzes in recent memory. This was aided by the fact that he was posted to the Military Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram in early 2010. Besides his quizmaster duties, Captain has also been a standout performer in the quizzing circuit of Kerala.

Abdul Raouf KP

Abdul Raouf, aka Raouf, represented College of Engineering, Trivandrum from 2006-2010. A late bloomer in the Kerala college circuit, he was most active from 2008-2010, being one of the two teams that CET always had on stage during that time.

Sports and Entertainment have been noted strengths of his.

Raouf is based in Bengaluru and quizzes as part of the team CIDs From Kerala.

Snehaj S

Snehaj Srinivas is a tireless quiz enthusiast from Calicut. As a quizzer, he worked his way up through the competitive quizzing arena of Calicut. Initial successes were hardfought and soon he became a consistent performer. He also undertook Quiz Masterial duties under the guidance of K P Sunil and other prominent quiz masters of Calicut. Soon he became a regular quiz master at quizzes in schools and colleges. He was instrumental in the formation of "Dreamz", a team of professional quizzers in Malabar. As part of the effort, he continues to put in his best to popularise quizzing at the grassroots level. He has hosted many quiz shows on TV besides organising, marketing and conducting quizzes for over a decade.
After a short stint in Singapore, Snehaj is currently based in Calicut, where he is working hard to promote quizzing both in visual & print media as well as within corporate houses and educational institutions.

Professional and Educational Details:

Snehaj is currently working for Toa Corporation, Singapore as an Engineer in charge of the staging ground works’, coordinating with various users, sub-contractors and, Housing & Development Board of Singapore (HDB). Prior to this, he worked as a Guest Lecturer in Medical Biochemistry at the Iqrah College of Nursing & Physiotherapy, Calicut and as a Manager at the Malabar Diagnostics Centre, Calicut.

Between 2000 and 2008, he also served as the Director of the Dreamz Academy, responsible for the control & co-ordination of all the activities of the academy: selection of staff, training, planning and implementing of various promotional activities such as knowledge oriented events, conducting quiz shows etc.

Snehaj also has considerable experience in marketing and promotional activities as well as event management and publicity. He has conducted many quiz shows, training programs etc including business quizzes, medical quizzes and live shows on TV. He has also been part of the research team for several TV Quiz shows.

He has a Master's degree in Medical Biochemistry from Health Science Dept: Calicut University. He also has a Masters degree in Information technology from Manipal University and a Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry main) from the Govt. Arts & Science College, Calicut. He is currently part of the MBA program of Sikkim Manipal University.

Snehaj was the captain of the Kerala state team in All India Federation cup Indoor Cricket championship held at Nagpur on August 2005

Vijayanath Vishwanath

Vijayanath aka "Ayur Kid" is the archetype of the "lone gun man". A giant in both size and quizzing prowess, he has been a regular at all quizzes in Kerala over the last decade. A student at the illustrious Vaidyarathnam Ayurveda College, Ollur, he has often outperformed seasoned teams singlehandedly. He believes in systematic preparations and combines it with a natural flair which often leaves unsuspecting teams stunned. An expert at Cricket, History etc, he has also featured in the Padayottam quiz and Aswamedham contest on Kairali TV.
He recently brought out a new quiz book and is presently pursuing his MD at Udupi.

Sreeram Iyer

Rajesh Mohan

A hardworking quizzer, his perseverance and systematic preparations saw him becoming one of the leading quizzers of his generation during his time at GEC Thrissur. He started off in school quizzing at a very early age. But did not make a mark till his 10th standard. He continued his efforts at Aquinas College as a pre-degree student. Remarkably he rarely attended quizzes during his bachelors at Pala.
Then he arrived at GEC Thrissur to do his MCA. Initially, it was hard going, even intra-college events proving to be too tough. This period marked a steady improvement in preparations and interest. Ghevarghese-Vaidyanathan team gave him good company and informal quiz club sessions were started. Gradually, a place in the finals of all Kerala quizzes was guaranteed and soon enough, he was challenging established teams for the top honours. He also found a good partner in Arun Ashok and the team won several quizzes in South Kerala.
Rajesh was one of the flag bearers for GEC during their quizzing revival. A group of quizzers like chandu, rahul, hari,rajashekhar and arun look up to him for making GEC, a competitive team. Along with the group, he ensured that all the departmental quizzes in the college featured an inter-collegiate quiz. The quizzes organised during this time were of exceptional quality, with Dr. Kishore, Promoth George and Rajesh himself doing them. During this time, GEC Thrissur was one of the best venues for quizzes, with huge turnout from teams in Calicut as well as Ernakulam and southern Kerala.
After passing out in 2005, Rajesh joined a software firm in Bangalore, where he continued his quizzing activities, partnering Thomas Jacob, Lloyd Colopilly, Prashanth etc in several KQA quizzes.
He also spearheaded the efforts to revitalise the "Greycells" activities through numerous mails, phone calls and community posts. He conducted the inaugural Greycells Open at Ernakulam with Lloyd Colopilly. His hardwork and commitment to quizzing remains a source of strength to Greycells and Kerala quizzing in general.

Anish Rajan

Along with Sajan Thomas, he forged one of the most memorable partnerships in Kerala quizzing during the early 2000s. Such was the dominance of this combo that the phrase "master of all he surveys" would be less than appropriate for this gentleman. His keen eye for facts led him to victories in all parts of Kerala. Winning the KRL trophy twice in succession, the SBT Intel Teens trophy, the Babu Chazhikkadan trophy, Dhwani quiz at CET etc were high points in his quizzing resume. Most quizzers who have seen Anish, rate him as one of the best ever; a billing amply justified by his track record.

Promoth George

A popular quizmaster from Kottayam, he has conducted several quizzes in and around Kottayam. Has conducted quizzes at CET, GEC Trichur, etc. He is known for his enthusiastic approach towards quizzing, and for encouraging young quizzers. He has also presented quizzes on television, including a popular quiz for students in Jeevan TV

He is currrently in the Gulf. Formerly he was an employee at MRF.

Vijay Krishnan

A natural quizzer, he made stunning performances look easy. He was part of the quiz team of Bhavans, Caliut during the late 90s along with Roshith Mohan. The period saw Calicut turning in to one of the most competitive destinations in school quizzing. Bhavans and Silver Hills High School dominated the school quizzing scene in Calicut and the two schools often found themselves doing a 1-2 in state level contests as well. The teams also gave several college teams, a run for their money. A memorable performance was the Bhavans team finishing second at Ragam, the annul fest of REC, Calicut. Anjay-Rajmohan conducted the quiz and the team edged ahead of teams like Calicut Medical College, IIMK and REC Calicut.
A voracious reader,Vijay gobbles up books in quick time. He was exceptional when it came to areas like literature, movies,music and peerless in all things classical. Quiz masters like Dr. S. Nagesh often rated him as one of the best when it came to these fields.
After completing his +2, Vijay headed for JIPMER, Pondicherry. During this time, he has won several quizzes including a finals finish in the prestigious Saarang Lone Wolf quiz at IIT Madras and an appearance on University Challenge. He has also conducted a few quizzes as part of JIPMER's cul fest.

Dr. Sarin P

One of the best exponents of the game in the modern era, he stands apart from the rest of the crowd because of his ability to perform well in both forms of the game-factual and trivia. As the leading quizzer of Calicut Medical College in the last 5 years, he has partnered many new-comers and often fought alone. A regular at quizzes all over the state, his enthusiasm for attending quizzes has only gone up with the years. A tough competitor on the stage, often involved in challenges & debates, he is an altogether different person off it. Quizzers from NITC, the arch-rivals of CMC, fondly remember the wonderful competitions they have had with him and his role as a formidable rival right next-door! Even more he will be remembered for his warmth off the stage, his generous sharing of quizzing information and encouragement to youngsters. He served as the General Secretary of the college union in 2005-06.

Dr. Sarin  is based in New Delhi and is employed by the Indian Accounting Auditing Services after attempting the Civil Services Exam in 2008.

Lloyd Colopilly

Sajan Thomas

Sajan Thomas belongs to an illustrious family of quizzers. He has the honour of having partnered both his brothers at school quizzes. A native of Thodupuzha, he was a prominent quizzer at school level. Later, at University College, TVM, he was part of a formidable quiz team along with Anish Rajan. The duo emerged as one of the most successful teams in the history of Kerala quizzing, practically converting most state level quizzes into no-contests. The fact that Sajan and Anish were both students of History and Political Science helped. After Anish passed out, Sajan continued his winning form and won the Manorama Trophy in 2004. He also featured in the Padayottam quiz on Kairali TV, bowing out in the semi-finals(?).

Current Status:
He is currently pursuing a PhD degree at the University of Bergren, Norway. He is continuing his quizzing tradition, attending international quizzes with partners from different nationalities!

Naveen Giles

One of the current best in the country at Business Quizzing, Naveen Giles was the first Keralite to win the Economic Times Brand Equity Quiz, the biggest Corporate Quiz in India. He did the same representing Goldman Sachs in 2006 and it fetched him prizes including a Ford Ikon car, holidays and so on. His 2 other big wins were the CNBC channel’s CNBC Challenge Corporate Quiz (with prizes including a Singapore holiday, Designer hampers, Car audio system etc), and the Brand Mahaguru title at the Indore Management Association which fetched him an Enfield Bullet motorbike and a Pinnacle Saporiti furniture set. Who said quizzing doesn’t pay? ;-)

Long before getting into Business Quizzing in a big way, Naveen was a a regular in the active Kerala Quizzing circuit during the 1994-1999 period representing the Dept. of Ship Technology, CUSAT. He considers himself lucky to have quizzed alongside stalwarts such as Devadas Krishnan, Sachin, Gigi, Lloyd etc. Despite the high quality of competition, he won several quizzes during this period, notably ones at the MACE, and at the Kottayam Book Fair. He happily states that engineering days were mostly spent in traveling from one quiz venue to another. His best show; yet a big regret; was at the National Inter-University Quiz where he partnered Devadas and Bharadwaj to reach the National finals representing CUSAT. However, the finals saw Calicut University narrowly edging past the CUSAT team by a solitary point to win the title and also a chance to represent India at the SAARC Quiz.

After his BTech, Naveen joined the KJ Somaiya Institute of Management in Mumbai. He got interested in Business Quizzing and soon became a major player in Inter-B-School biz quizzes, winning almost every quiz he participated during his MBA days. After 15 or so titles in those 2 years, he continued his passion after joining the corporate life and has represented Citicorp, Goldman Sachs, CSC and FICO in various Corporate Quizzes. Winning the “Brand Equity Quiz” established him as one of the very best in India. This followed a stint of a couple of years in Tokyo, away from quizzing but rearing to get back to the action. While there, he tried to keep in touch with the quizzing scene back in India and noticed that now there were several blogs on quizzing but that it was difficult to keep track of updates in each. So, after getting back to Bangalore in 2008, he envisioned the Quizblogroll www.quizblogs.com , which links more than 250 quiz blogs and sorts the linked quizblogs based on how new their updates are. This has now grown into a one-stop-shop for quizzers, with around 10,000 hits every month! Moreover, he started the first service in India to inform quizzers on upcoming quizzes via SMS. The thrill of competition that once took him all over Kerala continues to propel him to greater heights, and the will to innovate more and give back something to the quizzing community that he is a part of reflects in his ventures.

General Info:

Having arrived on the quizzing scene as a prodigious school quizzer from Calicut,he has represented Silver Hills High School, East Hill HSS and NIT Calicut with distinction. His list of partners range from rookie school quizzers to the likes of Anil Raghavan and Josyula Krishnamurthy. In school quizzing, he was one of the most dominant figures of his era having won All-Kerala tournaments like SBT Intel Teens, Labour India Quiz and a second spot in the national finals of Terra-Quiz.His exploits after joining NIT Calicut, particularly in
2005-'06, made him one of the best known figures in Kerala Quizzing. Over the years 2005 -'07, he dominated the Kerala College Quizzing arena.

He completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad in the class of 2009.

He is presently employed by the Securities Trading Corporation of India and works out of Mumbai.

Dr. Abraham Joseph or AJ, as he is popularly known, is one of the most prolific quiz masters in Kerala. He is, arguably, one of the busiest quiz masters in the ring with an amazingly high number of quizzes done every year.In recent years, he is best known as the presenter of the "South Indian Bank Grandmaster" quiz. He has also been the regular quiz master of the KRL quiz held at Cochin. Old timers may remember him for the Babu Chazhikkadan trophy, of which he was a regular feature.

AJ has compiled the popular quiz book "Your Time Starts Now". An English Professor at the Mar Evanios College, Trivandrum, he peppers his quizzes with interesting questions from etymology and literature. His choice of subjects is amazingly wide, with history, current affairs, science, sports and mythology dominating the quiz. AJ can also rightfully claim to have a great collection of audio-visual content.

As a quizzer, he is most famous for winning the "Brain of Kerala" quiz in the 80s.
