Current Status :
Ravi graduated from NITC in 2008. He presently works as a copywriter in a reputed advertising firm in Bengaluru. (or so he claims)
He spends his spare time by admonishing his room-mate Praveen VR and discouraging upcoming quizzers.

Quizzing Achievements:
Biggest Quizzing (and presuming the allied, rather conveniently) Achievement :
Saying “If the going goes tough, I’ll probably get up and leave” in the 1st round of University Challenge, which was subsequently aired on BBC World (India-slot), and “ I think I need a new hairstyle” in the 2nd round.
( Feeling a jackass on the dubious intelligence behind my opening lines, I was also briefly depressed about not being able to come up with a scandalous opening line a la Josyula, who said “ I want to be an Isreali Jehadi Bomber (1st UC Edition). The comment, obviously cudn’t have been shown on National Television, was scrapped, and was substituted with Josyula saying “I want 2 pass out of ISB unharmed”, or something of that mundane sort. Thankfully the day was saved by my mate Roshith, who uttered this humongously ridiculous speak -“ I wish I was on the other end of the table.” )

1) Navatharangam India Quiz ( Won it. Don’t remember the year, with Subin)
2) Doordarshan Tvm Quiz (Finished second,with Praveen)
3) Leo Club School Quiz ( won the biggest quizzing trophy (dimension-wise) I’ve ever seen, with Praveen)
4) SBT Intel Teens- QFs 1998 (I think) (with Praveen).
5) Have Qualified to a lot of the Navtharangam India Quiz Finals (Mr. Alexander being the QM always).
6) Interact Club Quiz (I think.) (Vijay-Roshi won, finished runners-up, with Praveen)
7) Hindu Young World Quiz ( finished Third in Kerala Finals, with Praveen and Abid)
8) Euphoria Gen Quiz (Calicut Med. College) ( Finalist, with Manjith) (Koshy, Kishore, a good K-REC team and another Medico team were in the race)
9) The Annual (‘twas supposed to be so) St. Joesph’s Devagiri Quiz ( I think we finished second or Third, with Manjith. Anoop Koshy and his partner won)
College Quizzes:
1) Ramesh Memorial Quiz (RMQ)2002 (Is an internal Annual NIT quiz, but very memorable ‘coz won it on my regular team’s College debut, upsetting the then college team of Suraj-Dantes, and Praveen’s team. Manjith was the QM along with Anjay J. Partner- Roshith. Won it again in 2004 with Praveen.)
2) Saarang (IIT-M) 2002 India Quiz (topped the prelims by a good margin, but couldn’t sit for the Finals . Partners: Suraj and Shekhar Menon)
3) University Challenge- (Pre-Quarterfinalist- read 2 TV rounds).
4) Quintessence-2005 (Govt. college, Trichur) (2nd. Lloyd won it. Partner: Roshith)
5) Transit Biz Quiz (Technically my first quiz from NIT .Finalist. Anil R won. Partner- Vipin)
6) Amrita TV GQuiz ( 3rd. Sarin’s team won, Manu Sudhakar’s team came 2nd. Partner: Roshith)
7) Ragam (NIT-C) General Quiz Finalist (2003,’04,’05. Partner: Roshith)
8) Manorama College Quiz 2005- Finalist-Calicut Round. (Partner: Roshith)
9) Backwaters Lonewolf (IIM-K)2002- Finalist
10) Backwaters Lonewolf (IIM-K) 2007 (3rd. Abid won)
11) Qualified for the finals of all the quizzes of MNNIT Allahabad’s Quiz Fest ‘Gnosomania’ 2007 ( Closest finish: 4th in ‘Corpo-tainment’ Quiz. Partners: Arithra and Vivek. The regular Calcuttan Quiz Whores (of Shonagachchi, if you must) a.k.a. Hoonda and Co, IIT-BHU and Depanjan-Harish-Shonkhu garnered the podium-finishes)

Area(s) of interest:
Used to specialize (so I’m told) in Literature/Books/Art in School, Biz-Entertainment during PDC. Now pretty much in the side-lines due to lack of ‘keeping track and updating stuff’ (nice excuse, eh?) since 2005. As it is, anything goes, but hugely ‘Sports’-ically challenged. Almost nil-info on Sports, for some reason.
Have researched for most of the internal NIT-C quizzes conducted by ENQUIRE ( The NIT-C Quiz Club) and for the ‘Ragam’ Quizlets till 2005, and for ‘Crossroads’ ( The Annual ENQUIRE Quiz Fest) 2004 & 2005, including ‘conducting’ a Book/Literature Quiz and an Entertainment Quiz in 2005. Last quiz conducted- A ‘Conclave’ (Intra-ENQUIRE Quiz) in Dec.2006.
